Too Many

“The people who are with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel brag against me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’”
Judges 7:2

Reflection

He started with thirty-two thousand and was told it was too many. Fear counts resources and concludes it cannot be done; the reduction to three hundred says the size was never the point.

Pray

Father, I keep asking for more before I will start — more money, more time, more certainty, more people. Show me what is actually sufficient and let me go with it.

Amen.
