Courage story · The Last Meal · 1 Kings 17
Day 03
The Jar Did Not Empty
“The jar of meal didn’t run out, and the jar of oil didn’t fail, according to the LORD’s word, which he spoke by Elijah.”
1 Kings 17:16
Reflection
What she got was never a stockpile. It was a jar that kept not being empty — enough each time she went to it, and never more than that, which is a harder gift to trust than a lump sum.
Pray
Father, I keep asking for a surplus so I can stop depending on You daily. Teach me to trust a jar that refills instead of a pile that reassures.
Amen.
Declare
Enough, repeatedly, is a real kind of provision.
Today’s practice
Look back over the last twelve months and write down three times the jar did not empty — the unexpected work, the bill that shrank, the help that arrived.
