Peace, Be Still
“He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”
Mark 4:39
Reflection
The calm did not come from the disciples bailing faster. Three words ended what all their effort could not, and the storm's authority turned out to be borrowed.
Pray
God, I have been bailing — managing, checking, refreshing, fixing. Speak stillness into the part of this I cannot control, and into the part of me that will not stop working at it.
Amen.

What is loudest in my life is not what is in charge of it.

Take ninety seconds: breathe slowly and say 'Peace, be still' on each exhale. Use 'Steady me now' if it helps.
