Even If

“Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods.”
Daniel 3:17–18

Reflection

Their courage did not depend on a guaranteed rescue. 'But if not' is the sentence that frees you: obedience decided before the outcome is known cannot be bought by fear later.

Pray

Father, I want assurance before I will commit, and You are asking for commitment before assurance. Give me an 'even if' faith — one that holds when the answer is not the one I asked for.

Amen.

Declare

I will do what is right even if the outcome is not what I hoped.
